It’s great to have you here! I’m Dani Nguyen (Win)

My work is rooted in my warm approach to psychiatric care where the patient feels comfortable and excited to work together as a team. My extensive training in integrative medicine and prescription medications will be discussed in depth and catered to your needs during our session.

If I’m not watching stand-up, I love to play music (I was a music-school teacher for seven years and am in a band now) and love to hang with my wife and English Bulldog, Rigatoni.

I’m also into health, biking around Chicago, philosophy, and planning my next travel adventure.

I believe in the power of:

  • Having courage to ask for help

  • Loving and speaking kindly to yourself

  • Gaining confidence in your own uniqueness in a world that can make you feel less-than

  • Boundaries

  • Having an ally on your mental-health journey

  • Seeing our imperfections as beautiful

  • Finding joy in the journey

My Story

As a child of immigrant parents—each from different ethnic and religious backgrounds—I was born into a culture that resembled neither of theirs. Growing up was a constant search for belonging, often resulting in external and internal conflicts.

Any belonging I may have found in a certain culture, spirituality or family of origin, came at the cost of my individual expression. In my attempts for connection, I learned how to play many roles while keeping my authentic Self hidden from view. As a result, I spent a lot of time in my head, contemplating how to reconcile the internal and external costs of this existence. Gleaning whatever truths I could find from religion, philosophy, therapy, relationships... life.

Furthermore, seeing family members navigate through their own generational trauma and depression, I realized the importance of finding allies in your corner and how isolation can magnify the negative, critical, anxious, self defeating voices that can run rampant through our minds. It also unearthed a desire to be "in the trenches" for those wrestling with the inner and outer conflicts of life, which has continued to fuel my passion in mental health.

I enjoy working with ethnic, cultural, LGBTQIA+ minority populations - really anyone who struggles with "fitting in" and trying to find their identity in a world quick to place labels, generalizations and even diagnoses. I empathize with you as a person still growing and developing in my own self worth.

I also enjoy working with you who are jaded with the typical western medicine approach – wanting to think outside the box and curious to explore the other paths of psychiatric care through integrative approaches. I understand the frustration of wondering if anyone actually cares and hope to provide a warm, inclusive and collaborative approach to psychiatric care.

I believe we all have the inner capacity to heal and thrive. I invite you not as someone with all the answers but hope to support as you find your own truth and inner belonging. I look forward to working with you!

I believe in the power of connection, compassion, and the resiliency of the human spirit to promote healing.
